Mrs.Calvaruso/ B’s Class

Welcome To Junior Kindergarten

Carolyn Calvaruso

Junior Kindergarten Teacher

&

Gita Bandyopadhyay

Hello, I am  Carolyn Calvaruso, and I am very excited to be teaching at Cedar Hill Prep!  I
received my BA from Kean University, and am currently pursuing my Masters
Degree.  Each year, I teach my students that Mommy and Daddy are their “first
and forever teachers”.  I believe that children benefit most when parents and
teachers can work together as partners in their child’s education.

I am married and have two daughters.  Outside of the classroom, I enjoy many activities.  My
favorites are cheerleading, cooking, reading, and working out.   My daughter’s
both cheer for their schools and competitively so we are always on the go and I
am always cheering them on!

My goals will focus on each student’s academic, social, emotional, and physical needs in an
environment that nurtures kindness, growth and development.  I begin by
providing a place (the classroom) where children can feel they are a part of
something great, a place where they can make contributions and be acknowledged
for what they accomplish.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your
child.  I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your
children!

Gita Bandyopodhyay:

My name is Gita Bandyopadhyay, but our children at CHP know me as “Mrs. B”! I have been working at Cedar Hill Prep for the past 3 years as an assistant teacher. I am married for 29 years and have a 24-year-old son whom I am very proud of. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from India in Philosophy. As my son was growing up and became super-busy with his own studies and work, I began to work with young children as a way to pass the time. But soon, it became my life. Now, I cannot even imagine staying away from these young children! Every day, I look forward to coming to school, and seeing their bright faces. It makes my day brighter too! It is a joy and so much pleasure for me to spend the day with the children. It takes me back to the best time of my life, when my son was at their age! I very much enjoy working at CHP with these young groups.
