Dear Parents,
We look forward to meeting each and everyone of you at back to school night on Thursday, September 22nd at 6:00pm.
Mrs. Kotasthane and Mrs. Zerella
I am happy to announce that I have figured out how to upload the video that was taken of the students speeches and projects to Youtube and made them so that only we can watch them. I am going to try to add them to this post. Here are the skits that the students did to show their comprehension of the stories that they read in class. Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, the play we were originally going to see was rescheduled. We will be seeing a different performance some time in April. I will let you know when we will be going next month. Also, the book report due at the beginning of the month will be due on April 4th since we are on Spring Break on April 1st. Enjoy the break! Miss Dell =)
Update: The money that you paid for the field trip will be returned in test folders today. There will be a new permission slip and fee for the trip in April.
It was wonderful getting to meet with you all to discuss your children and to hear what your child thinks about their progress thus far. It really helps me to see how I can help the children with their studies. We will be having two field trips next week. The first one is on Monday to the Soccer Center so please have your child in their Gym uniforms on Monday. On Wednesday of next week, we will be going to see Mathemagic at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts. Please send your child to school in their uniform that day. Thank you and enjoy the beautiful weather!
This afternoon in your child’s backpack, the report card is going to be in an envelope. Please take the report card out and look at it with your child. After you have finished looking at it, please return the envelope only with your signature on it to let me know that you have seen it. Thank you! Miss Dell

We had a great time reading our favorite Dr. Seuss stories to the Seniors at the Assisted Living home yesterday! We took our story books and walked around to the different seniors and read our books, sometimes we got another book to read to them or we just moved onto to someone new. It was lots of fun!!
I have to just say how proud I am of the job done by the students that were presenting their projects today for African American History Month. I am very impressed that they were able to memorize the speeches in such a short period of time. Thank you families for helping us prepare to give our speeches! Miss Dell
Just wanted to give a quick “Thank you” to those families that donated to our Valentine’s Day party today. It was very thoughtful of you to send in the snack for us!
On another note, we would like to invite you to come and hear us give our speeches about the African American that we did our projects about next Wednesday, February 23rd at 9:30am. We are hoping that you can make it as we have worked very hard on these projects and we would like to share this information with you!
The schedule for the Mid-Term Exams next week will be as follows: 2/14 Reading/Language Arts, 2/15 Math, 2/16 Social Studies and 2/17 Science
I have to say that I was quite impressed by the effort put into the skits the students did two weeks ago. They took it very seriously and were very good in showing what they had learned and in working in groups. We have started new stories and are excited for what we are reading now. We have Mid-terms next week and will be working on rewriting our projects into our speeches for the following week. More information on that to follow…
